Hayley Allsopp – Vice Principal Students

Hayley joined Barnsley College as Vice Principal Students in 2024. She has strategic responsibility for safeguarding and Prevent, equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI), work experience and community stakeholder engagement. Her role is also to ensure the wellbeing and personal development of students.

Hayley started as a drama lecturer in 2007, being responsible for BTEC Level 3 and A Level drama, while also running a successful theatre company called Horizon Arts which toured around the world. Having found a passion for pastoral support, in 2012 she began working as Student Experience Manager with Wakefield College, gaining experience of behaviour management, safeguarding and supporting students.

Five years later, she progressed to Head of Student Experience and Engagement, a role that also encompassed work placements, enrichment activities, student voice and parental engagement. In 2021, she became Local College Director for Heart of Yorkshire Education Group.
